Standalone PIR for LED floodlight

A couple of fairly simple questions:

- will a standalone PIR like the one at

switch a 10W LED floodlight like the one at

- would such a PIR switch two of the floodlights connected in parallel?

Yes to both questions.

The PIR says that it is suitable for halogen, low energy and inductive loads so will be suitable for pretty much anything. The ratings quoted are the maximum permitted loads so 2 lamps will be well within the rating.

But it does not say it has a light sensor fitted which you may need/want too??

Good old Toolstation and their descriptions-lite :-/

Yes, very good point, I've not seen an external security light type PIR that didn't have one fitted but no way to make sure other than by inspection of the destructions. Fine if there is a TS branch nearby so it can be inspected on the spot or bought and returned if unsuitable.

I wouldn't hold breath on the possibility of anyone at TS HQ being able to answer the question straight away or on them answering it correctly if they did.
