Source of strong mesh

I wish to make some shelving in a mini greenhouse, I tried ply but due to the damp and heat it soon warped. I thought that a strong mesh of either metal or plastic might work. Where can I obtain some (at a reasonable price?

metal dealers for metal. Look for expanded steel mesh flooring

But you will still need to make a frame for it.

Why not pay the money and get the pro stuff?

Weldmesh fencing.

You could even try asking fencing suppliers for offcuts.

Wrong sort of ply. WBP (Water and Boil Proof) would not have warped ordinary ply will fall apart in short order if it gets wet/damp.

Mesh would be better as it lets light through to the lower shelves.

Not when the shelf is full of plants it won't :-) - which is likely to much of the time. And a wooden shelf might be removable.

I've got some old WBP ply used as storage shelving on the bottom of some staging. As Dave suggests it's been perfectly stable

My greenhouse (circa 45 years of age) has 3" rib ASBESTOS shelving supported by galvanised steel rails. Not much use for individual small pots but it is rigid, unaffected by water and self draining.
