Solar-PV - without feed-in-tarrifs.

I was browsing ebay, as you do, and I found a kilowatt of solar cells.

(I have no connection with the vendor, and cannot vouch for their quality, there are several similar sellers out there.)

leads me to conclude that properly situated in this part of the Scottish Rivera, I can expect on the order of 800Kwh/year.

Neglecting all of the fun stuff involving soldering irons, old bus-windows, and swearing, it would seem that I could pretty easily achieve 1Kwp panels that will last for over 20 years, for well under the cost of a proper panel.

(Indeed, considerably under a tenth of the cost)

However, as far as I can see all of the FAQs are aimed at panels that can attract REC/... credits.

What's the best option for hooking these to the grid - from a legal point of view.

Is there any way of even getting as good as net metering?

In Scotland, so this differs, as I understand it.
