Folks,
I had a problem over New Year with cigarette smoke coming thru' from next door. I live in a mid-terrace, built 1902, new people moved in who smoke and there was an overpowering and awful smell of cigarette smoke in one room, and the lingering smell of it in other rooms. You couldn't see smoke, but you could certainly taste it.
Landlord next door says he didn't seriously touch the party wall; the Council came and inspected and say he put down new carpets and plastered walls. I have put old socks in a possible gap beween skirting board and flooring in the worst-affected room. It's not as bad as it was, but still think there's a lingering smell from time to time.
Has anyone else had this? Is it common? Would anyone recommend any sealant product for the gap which has currently got the socks? It's in the airing cupboard so out of sight.
Thanks for any advice!
