Server fans

I have half a dozen of something of this weight and material:

I am pretty sure that they could work off a case psu but have no idea which wires to try first.

The model is pretty ancientredundant shop servers a decade ago. Model number4715MS-23T-B50

230Vac 50/60Hz 15/14W

Any ideas where to start or what I should get to put in the way, fuses or resistors?

TIA

the fans are mains voltage, not going to run off a pc psu.

I'm clearly missing something - but those are mains voltage fans - so why are to mentioning anything about PSUs?

So what do I plug them into If I just put a wire in the wall, won't they just short out?

Why would they short out if they're 240v AC supply?

Why would they "short out" - they are 230V AC fans.

You wire them direct to the mains.

OK - if you want to know how to do it nicely, *I* would run them back to a mains rated junction box *inside* the case (the fan wires may not be double insulated and/or may not be particularly long or tough).

I might consider a 1A fuse with a breaking capacity (also called "rupture capacity" of 1000A upwards - as on a very short ring or radial circuit, you can get some fantastically high currents if you short out the mains. Essentially use a 1 1/4" or 20mm fuse that is filled, not one that is wire in an empty glass tube.

If you look at CPC you should find an inline fuse holder that will be suitable.
