It seems that Samsung LED TV sets have a habit of blowing up the high-brightness LEDs that were introduced to replace the fluorescent tubes as back lights for the LCD screens.
I do not expect to lose the TV only 14 months after purchase (2 months outside warranty) when previously the LCD / fluorescent sets ran for 5 years or more!
Perhaps there is scope for furnishing our own LED array and powering it separately, because the telly is otherwise working (picture visible of shine a torch at the black screen)?
