Sacrificial anode

The anodes of the attached hot water tanks have not been changed for at least 10 years.

Everything is working well.

Do I need to change the sacrificial anode?

If so, where is it? and which anode do I have to purchase?

Is the anode at the bottom? If so, it seems I need to empty the tanks first.

Thanks,

Antonio

Yes, see manufacturers installation instructions, probably available on-line. get replacement from a plumbers' merchants. Usually fitted to steel enamelled/glass lined water heaters. When the anode has gone, the tank starts corroding. You were daft not to replace it sooner.

Good point; I hadn't looked at the pictures and assumed the OP had found a mention of a sacrificial anode on his cylinders. Having looked, the pictures show copper cylinders and these rarely have sacrificial anodes. Copper cylinders with copper plumbing don't need them.
