Room Thermostat

Hi

I have just installed a Towerstat RF room thermostat and I am not sure if this correct but the temp displays 1.5C to 2C higher than the other two Digital Temp displays i have in the room. Is it because this is just a cheap design or could it be faulty? I put the other two Digtial Temps in the room in the same place as the Room stat just for Temp observation.

Thanks

PS Thinking maybe I should have gone for a Honeywell variant or the Famoso 1000RF they make.

Who's to say which is right unless you have an accurately calibrated standard with which to compare!

I always check mine by hanging a decent quality mercury in glass thermometer next to them.

Does your Towerstat device have an adjustable offset? My Honeywell CM67 does.

The other two Digital Temps display more or less the same temps, only this one is different.

BTW I dont think it as a adjustable Temp offset.

It doesn't.

Indeed - but they could *both* be wrong!

Supposing you got two more, and they both agreed with the new one - you'd them have 3 to 2. Which would you then believe?

The majority value is not necessarily the *true* value - unless you have a

*calibrated* standard with which to compare it.

How about this I have just adjusted the settings on the Thermostat unit (change time, temps etc) and the unit's Temp has just gon from 19C to

20C. Is this normal?

Thanks

What is the step size of the display? If it's 1 degree, it's entirely normal for it to move like this. Your body heat only has to warm it from 19.49 to

19.51 for it to change to 20.

I've just bought 2 new Hortsman DRT1 digital room thermostats from Screwfix . There is 1 degree C difference between the two. (By adding a suitable relay, I'm controlling my 2 KW electric room heaters. This is replacing my plug-in thermostats, which I'm not satisfied with).
