Rogh cast glass

I need to find a 1 meter x 0.5 meter piece of rough cast glass 6.5m

thick to replace one of the panels of an old front door.

I have tried a few local glass suppliers without lack. They say thi glass is not made anymore.

Any idea where I can find it?

Thanks,

Antoni

I got some bullion glss - te stuff that looks like a magnifying glass and causes fires - in my doors, made by Acorn Doors..so weird stuff is available. You just have to hunt for it.

It's geetting really hard to find a glass merchant that knows or cares anything about sheet glass!

If you're in Bristol, go to the Creative Glass Guild in Bedminster

you're in Bedfordshire, try Tempsford glass

of these have more patterns and colours of glass than you would believe possible.

You could even have a stained glass panel made for you

you're elsewhere, then you might try a decent glass merchant for basic obscured glasses, which are cheap and commonplace. You often need to replace all the panes to match them though, and many modern patterns are a bit nasty looking.

I'm not familiar with it, but these folks have a mind boggling range of glasses:

Olde Worlde glass complete with imperfections is still available, I saw a woman on "Grand Designs" doing out a house completely with it. I imagine you'll have to send off for it and it won't be cheap.
