Road Pins?

That only applies if the site is for retail sales. VAT does not have to be included in the price on a trade only site.

I didn't need to look them up, so I didn't realise there were things called road spikes without the hook, until you said. I have no idea what they might be used for.

I'm still just as confused as when I read the first message.

Me too. It seems that it can mean a 'persuader', or something to hold a piece of tape, with or without a loop on the top. Maybe it might even mean something to pin a road down with, but I haven't noticed that explanation yet. I have never needed one, whatever it really means, so I will just sit back and watch.

I first know them from being used at road works, hence, I suspect, the name road pin. They will drive into tarmac, with a little gentle persuasion from a sledge hammer, and the ones with the hook at the top can be used to hang a road lamp from. I've not seen them used that way for a very long time though - the lamps I recall being used were the oil burning type - and they are probably mostly used for temporary fencing at events these days.
