Reproduction paintings: UK suppliers

Any web sites in the UK that sell reproductions of famous paintings?

I am moving into a new house soon and fancy a Gainsborough over the fireplace, a Vermeer in the hall and a Rembrandt in the back bedroom. Picasso can go in the shed...

Thanks Bruce

The art galleries themselves are usually a good but expensive source of prints.

If you want a real painting, try the art colleges.

Remember to tell your insurers as having paintings which someone might think are really valuable thus encouraging them to break into your house, hold you and your family at gunpoint, and rape the cat, is a material fact.

Do you want a printed copy, or a painted copy? I know someone who does reproduction paintings if that is what you want. Let me know

I pity anyone who tries to rape our cat, she will have a lump out of your arm just for walking past her!

I've found a web site

that does the sort of thing I am looking for.

A "proper" painted copy would be too expensive for me, but this site sells "canvas look" copies.

My other option is to do a "Mission Impossible" heist on the National Gallery...or put a pile of bricks in my front room*.

Change the children's names to Gainsborough, Vermeer and Rembrandt Phipps, and frame their felt-tip output. Then you can have Gainsborough, Vermeer and Rembrandt in every room in the house.

Don't worry about the name-calling and bullying they'll get at school - it's character-building.

Or Michelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo and Donatello.

Alchemy Mindworks used to do a CD with images of old masters on it, but when I looked they weren't offering it anymore. Instead they're now doing 'Indecent Images'which is described as "100 PRE-RAPHAELITE AND VICTORIAN-ERA IMAGES ON TWO CD-ROMS, REPRODUCED FROM THE ORIGINAL PAINTINGS". Presumably this offering gets more hits from Google. It looks like chubby Victorian semi-clad ladies, possibly not suitable for your purpose. Alchemy Mindworks may still have the old masters CD in stock if you contact them.
