Replacing a built in double oven.

My Creda Europaplus double oven will need replacing shortly. Are double fitted ovens a standard size, in other words ill it fit neatly into the hole in the kitchen units? I assume it is a fairly straight forward job, any snags likely to arise?

I think there about three standard sizes. Just measure up the hole.

There are 3 different sizes, standard single oven, the larger built-under, largest - and built-in.

Most of them just pull out or a couple of screws at the most.

We have had a Creda Europa Solar Plus for many years. When I replaced the kitchen units I did find that it was compatible with one of the standard sizes.

You may find that you can download the installation manual for any replacement that you are thinking of buying. Hopefully this will contain the dimensions that you need.

Having been looking for a replacement oven recently all the ones I looked at had the dimensions included with the specification. Existing one was simply held in with a couple of screws and could be pulled out far enough to measure the aperture (don't forget depth). I agree with comment of previous poster - they are very heavy and awkward and a two man job to lift in or out. In the end even at c£80 (had to be the most expensive one) it was cheaper to replace the cooling fan which hopefully will last for another

20 years.

+1. We bought one about 4 years ago, although it's rubbish.

Yes, took me a little while to find the screws (front edge) recently when it needed repair - despite the fact that I'd installed it!

Yes...had to borrow a son to do that although we only brought it out onto a B&D Workmate for the repair.

I was replacing a grill element...I am far from happy with it (why did I EVER buy a Hotpoint?). Saving up for a Bosch... And it'll be substantially cheaper to run, too.
