It might have been through the main electric cable as well, but it was not.

It certainly was close to a corner. Too close to use washers.

I found an epoxy resin based paste at B&Q for a fiver. Job done it set solid in an hour and loads left over.

If it's just the hole left by the screw and it's almost closing up again I'd just squirt a some stixall (or sticks like sh*t) in (it sticks to wet surfaces) and spread it round a bit on the inside to make a blob.
