PVC Guttering

I have just read the storage instructions for my new guttering:

"We would always advise that any type of PVC or metal guttering product is stored in a cool place out of direct sunlight to avoid damage"

I shall be installing it on my roof in temperatures varying from -10C to +40C in direct sunlight. I guess it won't last long!!

You'd be right. It goes brittle quite quickly. Not a problem unless you try to move it or lean a ladder etc against it.

Once it's up, it should be held in position. In storage, it might end up with a bend in it if it slumps down.

I have bought 5m lengths of guttering and folded it in half to get it home in the car. It just about recovers if you limit the folded in half time to ~20 minutes. A friend did something similar and left it in the car for an hour, and that piece was then unusable.
