Programmable Cylinder Stat

Does one exist? I would like warmer water in the morning, to allow all of us to have showers, but during the day have the water a bit cooler on the hands!!! Haven't seen one in any searches.

Thanks

It would rely on poor insulation of the cylinder to allow the temperature to fall...

A more pragmatic approach might be to fit blending valves on the basins to moderate the maximum temperature of the hot water there.

Either TMVs on the washbasins or you could use two stats, with a changeover cpontrolled by a timer,

Hi

The Danfoss WP75 does what you want.

Agreed, wasteful of energy.

Or just one blend valve in the feed to taps, the shower feed being taken before the blend valve. Blend valves ain't particularly cheap.

Triton Trimix is ~ £45 + VAT. I suggested to Triton that I could use one on the tap supplies rather than one per basin and they started muttering about Legionella. How many basins do you need to fit them to?

Arse covering. If the store is above 50C they survive but don't multiply= , above 55C they are dead within 5 to 6 hrs, above 60C dead in 30 odd minutes.

So the water from the store is going to be legionella free. I guess they= could come from the cold particulary an open cold storage tank but mains= water is pretty damn clean in this country.

There is a theorectical risk but one so small as to be not worth botheri= ng about IMHO.

I am not sure that it always would.

If the cylinder is set at say 65deg in the morning to allow for showers up until 8 am and at 8 am a programmable stat (or other device) sets a new temperatrure of 50 deg then you would be relying on the showers to drop the temperature of the cylinder not insulation losses.

Or mixer taps.

Spot on - that was my theory anyway!

Thanks for the responses, looks like danfoss all the way
