Problem with controls/timer on gas central heating

Hi,

I've had some recent renevations around my gas burner for my central heating done and I'm having problems getting it to work again.

The control panel/timer (on-off, timed start, hot water or central heating etc...) is now not starting the boiler. I got an engineer in and he stripped and serviced the boiler and he confirmed all is ok with this. He started the boiler by wiring directly from the power socket to the boiler, bypassing the control panel and all worked fine. For obvious reasons it was not practical or safe to leave it like this however it proved that the problem is electrical and nothing to do with the boiler.

There is power to the control panel but the problem seems to be getting it to start the boiler. My question is this easy to replace. Am I correct in saying there should be two inputs and one output. Input one

- power, input 2 - thermostat and and output to the boiler and how easy is this to wire.

Any help greatly appreciated

The Main FAQ contains descriptions of varous CH control systems.

Make a diagram of what you have, it is most likely something close or identical to a standard layout. Then work mout what is not working correctly.
