Probably the worlds thickest customer

Last Sunday I chiseled out, mounted the back boxes, lifted the floor boards and augered the joists.

Got back there today to install the cables and he has had the house plastered.

It turned out the plasterers had a cancellation and they asked if they could come a week early to do the job at this house and Mr Thicko said yes to their request.

Plasterers must have been pretty thick too!

Plasterers are the thickest tradesmen on this planet.

Maybe not. They'll get paid twice.

Why did you not go back the next day to finish off your work?

I was already booked up. He agreed to the rewire over two weekends.

Did they even fill the back boxes??

No.

That is fair enough.

Considering that he only phoned me on the 5th October for the rewire doing.

You could tell him not to pay the plasterers. After all, what they did was not fit for purpose.

Just out of interest what did he say when you explained the facts of the matter to him, and did he understand?

Well they tend to be artists, or so they tell me. It takes a lot of skill to make a wall flat. Obviously the ones who did this house in 1939 were the ones who failed this part of the course though.. Brian

Eee, I used to dream of flat walls and 90° corners.

Just think yourself lucky they hadn't had a damp proof course put in and the bottom metre or so of the wall rendered. ;-)

If you first fix the cables this weekend, next weekend you'll probably find radiators in front of the socket boxes.

If there weren't any customers, your life would be a lot simpler.
