I have an old primatic hot water tank, can anyone tell me about it and what's good and bad about them. I want to remove a radiator and would like to know if this will disturb the seal in the cylinder.

They take a time to drain. Just fill up as normal. If you can replace then it is best to do so as the CH system does not have inhibitor. Depends on the water in your area id corrosion is advanced.
There's nothing good about primatic cylinders (except that it saves a header tank). Get rid of it and replace it with a normal indirect cylinder. This will allow you to pump the primary and be much more efficient.
Mark.
My system was combined hot water tank and heating and in the end I split the system up. I disconnected the heating feed from the cylinder and added a pressure vessel to the heating circuit. So, I still have mains pressure HW but now I have inhibitor in the heating too.
