Power suppliers; aka ********

Is it me or does everone get routinely overcharged for gas and or electricity and what are you supposed to do about it?

If they climb down after a phone call and remit you 60 odd or so on your next bill what happens to any lost interest and how do you know they picked a more accurate figure?

PS: What is the key to get a capital apostrophe?

No such thing. An apostrophe (') is an apostrophe, no matter whether you're typing in upper or lower case.

Take your own readings, check it against the bill. Forget about paying an inflated bl now with promise of a rebate later, if you dont owe it, you dont owe it. They love to try it on.

No but I keep a close eye on the bills and meter readings, which being on a "paperless online" tarrif I provide to them. They normally try to bump the fixed monthly direct debit up each year but as I have a spread sheet with the meter readings in I know my useage and use that with the current price to estimate the annual bill and thus the monthly payment. They always admend it when I call.

If they owe me that much I ask for a refund, not a credit to the account, along with accepting my revised DD amount. Lost interest, on =A360 over a year, a couple of quid after tax... and that's in a 4% savings acount. Current accounts pay 4/5ths of sod all these days.

When I left them I got a sales call trying to twist my arm. y use in minimal and they wanted to give me an offer on stuff I will never use.

Then I told them to stop send bills to the previous tennants too so they sent a a final bill for less than the full quarter :

800 quid or so.

That was for the period we had all that sunn weather (aka Japanese earthquake weather is anyone wants to follow the McNeil Blocking High Effect.)

So Iwent through the coldest winter in years with a flaky boiler. Then I got a 360 quid bill for 3 months guesswork. The a 60 quid rebate offer. Then an =A3800 goodnbye and thanks for leaving our treasure chest full of notes note. Presumably it shoud have been =A3860?

Lovely people. Now you know where all those ban klowners went with their golden handsahkes from the Socialists. Very social of them. I hope Tory is getting well paid for his good work.
