Planning / building control needed?

An aunt is considering having the night storage heaters replaced with conventional gas central heating i.e. balanced flue gas boiler heating water for radiators and the DHW cylinder.

Is any planning permission or building control needed ? - the building is a conventional semi, not listed or anything like that, and in a row where most others have had it done.

Thanks,

Nick

you are a product ot the nanny state. With worries like this is it any wonder the authorities assume responsibility for everything you do in life? You'll be asking for planning permission to change your trousers soon.

Not PP required. Some aspects of heating systems do come under building control due to energy efficency requirements. If the installer is CORGI registered then they should be able to self certify the building control aspects as well. If you are installing, then in theory it would require a building notice.
