OTish: interesting job

H&S is the responsibilty of all. Bad practices need to be exposed, story end of.

You may find it funny, but it's not. If they can't organise deliveries properly and are lax on H&S some one is going to get hurt. But I guess as this is a church organisation it would be as "The Lord Wishes" so that's alright then, even if the injured party is not a member of that church.

Is this NG the right place to report that? I'd have thought it would be HSE or similar? Please don't obfuscate a bit of gossip with H&S.

You are aware of the problem, and you know the site. What have you done about it?

The correct way to do it is to write to the responsible party, not put it on the internet.

That's how I'd see it I've been told to kepe quiet about certain things in the past with vague threats of libel. I guess those that wanted to speak ou t against Jimmy Savile got a similar warning. In my area we've had 2 cinemas taken by these sorts of churches and it always seems to be done underhandley.

Why waste time ?

Usually the only way to get people to notice it unfortunanly.

So, what effect has putting it on here had, apart from promoting discussion here (not that Usenet is the Internet)?

If there are serious breaches, then the HSE are the people to contact, although I don't think that not wearing high-vis jackets or safety boots (although there is a lot of safety footwear out there that is not obviously safety footwear) will automatically qualify as a serious breach.

Name and shame. There's no excuse for dodgy or dangerous practices on site.

Yes, but name and shame how and where?

Why not go to HSE with it? What's the point of having a natter on this NG?
