OT - Virgin Cable

Just come back from a short walk and the Internet and TV are dead.

Plugged in my trusty 3 Mobile Broadband dongle and went to check status. The Virgin system denies all knowledge of any cable service to my postcode and I can't log into my account because they are doing essentail upgrades. Never mind, the work should be finished by 11:00 Sunday.

Anyone other Virgin cable users having problems?

Sounds like you need a new tv and computer because there's never any problems at the Virgin end :-)

Have had best support from Virgin through their online forums.

of the person who comes out admitting they have had info. from the forum people is closer to zero - but it has worked in the end. And obviously relies on access by some other means...

Phone is borked as well. No dial tone. So report it via the website - broken. So phone up - broken. So watch TV - broken....

O.K. I have mobile broadband, a mobile phone, and a satellite dish so near normal service is available. Just as well though.

They never seem to work very well for me. In the old days there was tech support on line.

Check down the road for a sprung open roadside cabinet, busted lock, inside scattered contents of last nights/weeks doner kebab (mostly salad), spent tins of diamond white, dog's left unmentionables and several loose cables; evidence of where numpties have attempted to wire their non-friendly neighbours connection as their own.

You lucky! Not BT! Phone line goes down. Phone from mobile. Key in number. Told to go online from landline to sort problem via their problem solver.

No worry! Many virgins wait for you in Heaven!

Makes me want to be a real sinner! :)
