Lord Hall, do they pour the water on the Vulcan?

  1. The Vulcan in Gibraltar got corrosion from the salt water, being next to the sea and fell to bits several years ago

  1. There is no water shortage.

I knew that (of course I'd say that!) but navigating both the opsi.gov and the caa websites late at night is not to be recommended even when you do know what you are looking for :D

OK

But that just spoils the joke.

Yep, the Merlin. The Mustang was basically a British plane anyhow. An RAF requirement and specification. A British plane made by a US company (as the British aircraft industry was overloaded) to British requirements. The US government and military had nothing to do with it. They had two delivered for assessment and tested them "after" the first bunch had been delivered to the RAF.

I see your 'On the Beach' and raise 'Failsafe' and 'Twilight's Last Gleaming' (more nearly-apocalyptic than post-apacalyptic - best use of split screen ever)

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember Phil Young saying something like:

Must have a look for them, then. Ta.
