I was going to order one under the premise that 'free is good' but I don't see the point really, as it's only a basic 2*2 'n' 144Mbps extender. It might help patch up a black spot but that's about it.

Would be better if Sky offered a better specced router as an upgrade option or made it easier to use your own (not that it's particularly difficult)

I'll stick with my Airport Extreme thank you, (yes we have Sky fibre so the BT modem does the vDSL bit) 450Mbps solid in every room.

Better not let the tinfoil hat brigade think too much about the wifi signal field strength... ;) :)

My router is several years old, good reason to change it for a new one.

If its an old sky router you can get one of the new ones free by following the above link. It won't let you have a free booster unless you have a new sky router. It then says you can claim a free booster if you still have dead spots with the new router.

Are they not also offering a free broadband wireless booster, I'm sure I heard that on the radio. Brian

First you get the new hub, if you have further problems with a blackspot with your WiFi, you can order the booster.

Sky are having a go at BT, who've always claimed their hub in the best available in the UK.

Specs-wise, the HH 5 is streets ahead of the Sky 'hub'. Still the majority of Sky's customers are probably happy with their effort and I guess their basic router/hub does at least 'work' fsvow at least :)

Sky are trying to fix the poor review they got in PCpro for the poor range their router has.

I wanted the booster but I have to order a hub first even though I will continue to use my netgear router.
