Is it just me? Does anyone find Reeves & Mortimer the slightest bit funny?

Bingo.

It isn't just you. I might enjoy watching them burn to death, but they have no merit whatsoever in my book.

Miranda. She doesn't even qualify as 'funny'.

I managed to get about ten minutes into her chat show, before I couldn't stand it any more. It seemed like she'd been dragged of the street and shoved on stage, it even looked like she was glancing a cue cards. When she's been on other people's shows she's seemed ok (QI, News Quiz), but she looked like she was floundering on her own, it looked like some manglementbot had decided that she was the next sliced bread and hammered her into a chat-show shaped schedule hole.

I'm prepared to give her some time to settle in, she really needs to kick out and do what's she's comfortable with, not try and mold herself into what the producers are trying to mold her into. There's some talent in there that's really unsuited to what she's being made to do.

Its all part of political correctness. Its not fair to sack someone just because they are patently unable to do their job, especially when they are female and probably gay too..ticks too many oppressed minority boxes.

He's a southern nancy so his voice is automatically more irritating.

Really? IMNHO she's the same one-joke pony as Jo Brand; "I'm fat and men are bastards."

I certainly don't find her as amusing as the BBC seem to think we should, but a) her voice is much more acceptable than SM's; b) she is sometimes amusing - but tends to be fairly sparse.

I can't find any talent in SM.

Jo Brand can be very funny - but yes, someone does seem to think SM is the new JB.

Lloyd Grossman? Aimee McDonald?

This clip proves that people will laugh at anything, so we don't need comedy at all

Well Aimi MacDonald certainly has an incredibly squeaky voice. Still rather either Aimi or Aimee than SM.

LG wriggles out by not being a comedian.

Alan Carr. Millican's hilarious in comparison.

The fact is they haven't got much talent to choose from. If you can do better, you'll make a fortune. You wouldn't because there's a lot of work involved and no guarantee of any return.

have a look at, for example, Daragh O'Briain's wikipedia page to see how much experience he had to rack up as a stand-up before the 'Big Break'

Yes, but at least she is occasionally funny, unlike Gervais.

Millican sounds like my little old Auntie.
