One of our Melbourne electrical warehouses (E&S Trading - like Comet but with helpful intelligent staff) states on its invoices "In relation to any Miele products shown [on this invoice], Miele authorises E&S Trading to issue this document as a Chartered Agent of Miele. You are dealing direct with Miele, the manufacturer of these quality products". I presume this is so Miele have total control over discounting so as not to upset other outlets.

Sounds more likely that this is a combination of the retailer not wanting to deal with warranty issues (and so has come to an agreement to in effect outsource that back to the manufacturer)[1], also that the retailer has never owned the stock, even it was once in his showroom or warehouse. That's good for the retailer's cashflow even if it causes confusion in the combination of going broke and having previously issued "gift" vouchers.

I doubt it has anything to do with retail price control.

[1] Calling them "quality products", which they may well indeed be, helps defuse customer concerns about "but who do I call when it breaks". "Sir, they never break..."

Apple share price is dropping on fear of slowing sales. Most of the people who want one have bought one. That's the downside of stoking up demand in advance of release. They now need to come up with another innovative product.

I have a perfectly good keyboard already. One that allows two Ps in Apple and people... or didn't you realise that was what I was teasing you about :)

You got it wrong. Instead of taking the pee out of his Aple, you needed to add one back.
