Lovely local story from last year. Scrote attempts to mug small Asian gentleman - who turns out to be a karate and taekwondo expert - and even worse - a former Gurkha soldier!!

Sadly, not true.
"An account of the crime circulated via e-mail in December 2010 (reproduced as the first item in the Examples section above) was presented as a 27 November Associated Press account of the incident. While the circulated account was indeed based on that very news article, it contained a paragraph not found in the original: The suspect was transported to the local hospital with two broken arms, a broken leg, possible broken ribs, assorted lacerations and bruises he obtained when he fell trying to run after stabbing the Marine."

Then there was the one about the far eastern gentleman prosecuted for assault after taking on two hungry men following him down the high street who said they could, "murder a chinky".

I prefer to think that the original news story was later updated, when more information became available.

Whatever happens there's a moral story here, always let the 'attacker/criminal' live so they can learn from their mistakes. :-)
