OT Government to cut subsidies for new small-scale solar installations

Not before time! Lets hope they cut subsidies for existing installations soon after.

On the other hand, nobody would believe them on future special concessions, if after a few years they are able to go back on a promise. I'm not judging whether this was right in the first place, just the moral aspect of changing the goalposts after people have spent their money with t the promise of certain concessions. Brian

I'd hazard a guess that more people were affected by the abolition of MIRAS than would be by the cut highlighted here.

MIRAS wasn't a contract. If the government starts to break contracts they are going to have problems with people contracting with them and they will have to pay top dollar to get stuff done. Not that costing the tax payer more in the long run affects government decisions, just lokk at what the last lot did.
