OT Futuristic train video

Could you imagine it in winter with snow and rain and the leaves blowing everywhere.

Seems to combine the worst aspects for aircraft (energy consumption, noise, dedicated landing area, limited access to cities, turbulence, susceptability to weather) and trains ([enormous] dedicated right of way, track capacity limitations, need for route electrification, one-dimensional movement). I can't think of any situation where it would win over a conventional plane or train.

Oh I can. In some tin pot third rate university where they are earnest about 'climate change' and think windmills score over nuclear power stations.

There it wins a design competition.

Its probably got Dyson, Sinclair or Virgin on it somewhere.

You've forgotten Teslar and Apple, but it looked more like a flying burger to me.

Stick the track on a sea bed, bring the power in from wires above the water and you could have 21st century version of this.
