You may be on a newsletter from someone you've purchased from,

I've had about the same amount as the OP, though I'd just deleted them without curling into a foetal ball. A quick glance at the plaintext of the last one reveals:

You were sent this e-mail because your Notification Preferences indicate that you want to receive information about Special Promotions, Offers and Events.

Eek!

Spammers lie.

I wouldn?t say on a massive scale, but yes, more than one a day isn't that unusual. Not that I mind really, it's obvious what is spam and I do sometimes find something interesting and its trivially easy to have the stuff auto moved to where I can browse if I want to.

My main objection to the spam is that it gets in the way when checking where I got an item from the last time I got it and how much it cost. Not hard to have the search only show those tho.

I have had a few. I think they stir up inactive accounts every new year. I found all my carefully un-ticked communication preferences re-ticked!

ISTMT they have started new forms of contact, which they include along with "special deals and offers", which up till now has been acceptable in its frequency and content.

If you follow a link to an ebay item, such as appears here from time to time, after a day or two you then get emails with long rambling subject lines like:

"Are you still considering R7S 5W 10W 2835 SMD LED Wall Security Flood Light Lamp Corn Bulb 78mm 118mm"

and

"Latest 15W R7S J118 118mm 48 SMD 5730 LED Ampoule Spot Lamp Flood For Garden BC and more - are these items worth another look?"

and

"Rechargeable 2 Million Candle Power Torch 300 Lumen Halogen Powered Flashlight and more - are these items worth another look?"

also I don't previously recall:

"top-watched items we think will inspire you"

No its not.

I get a hell of a lot more than that, directly from ebay.

Not clear what criterion they use to decide who to send them to.

Not to mention twitter and farcebook and almost everybody else. Maybe they all had bad Christmases. Never quite understood why farcebook and twitter spam me as I've de activated my accounts there and if they think I'm going to go and look at some half baked celebrities inane ramblings.... Brian
