OT: Ebay history.

Is there a way of looking up what an item made on Ebay in the past?

If you search for what you are interested in and then check 'Sold listings' under 'Show only' down the LHS you should get what you desire. ;-)

If you do a search, down the left hand bar there are tickboxes for "completed only" and "sold listings"

e.g. widgets for sale

v.s. widgets sold

For a specific buy it now item with multiple available, if any have been sold there should be a "n sold" link with price history.

Sort of. Choose [advanced] on the right of the category search page, and then tick the completed listings box [ ]in the advanced menu. These can go back for up to two two months depending on the category chosen.

Again specific item descriptions in Feedback may contain the price but are only available for a few months.

So find someone selling similar stuff, check their feedback for similar items and check the price

Other than that for something fairly specific with a BIN price sometimes if you just put the description into Google it will bring up an old eBay listing without prompting. Putting Ebay at the end of the description might do even better. But this is only BIN prices at which the item was offered. Not whether it sold at that price.

These days eBay will only return SOLD or Completed results going back a couple of weeks or so. For older listings you can try a Google search with ebay in the search line and look for results with an ebay item number in the results. This will often produce results going back a year.
