It's just being replaced by a new model whose name I don't remember. The visible difference is the top cyclones are the other way up, and the washable foam filter is back on top of them (like the DC04, although that didn't have the top cyclones) rather than being at the bottom next to the motor. There are probably other changes too -- I only had a very quick look. When the DC07 effectively replaced the DC04, there were a lot of usability improvements, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is also true of the transition from the DC07 to the new model.
It's a good machine (even the older DC04 is much better than a much newer Electrolux equivalent).
Still three times what its worth IMHO.
It won't last. Besides, don't you want her on her back...?
