OT Costing the earth - EU definitions "Scientifically Illiterate"

An interesting programme on R4 yesterday, "Costing the earth" looked at several topics ahead of the upcoming climate summit. One speaker (with a reasonably laid out argument and examples) put forward the line that the EU Renewables target definition was "Scientifically illiterate".

Rather than repeat the arguments here, for those that are interested the item starts at about 15mins into this programme.

Came as a bit of a surprise to me as very little questioning the EU policy on climate change is ever allowed on the BBC

teh game is afoot.

August bodies are to be heard telling us that leaving the EU might save us money, Cameron is in a cleft stick, he cant pretend to get a concessions that is worse than nothing..politically he may have to leave the EU to keep the Cons in power...likewise the immigration thing has turned fr0om 'that's UKLIP being waycist' into a major national security issue.

Likewise the recent spike in the electricity wholesale price to over £2.50 a unit for a few minutes has concentrated minds. Green crap is out, keeping the lights on is in.

And the BBC has its license renewal coming up. Playing at being intellectual Trotskyites may not pay the Islington mortgage much longer.

The current series starring Harrabin is disgracefully biased.
