OT Colour test challenge

No, it's quite clear that the score goes up to well above 1,000. Press "Score Test" without changing anything, and you'll get a score of around 900-1,100. Press the back button and do it again, and you'll get the same score. Press back, swap two adjacent colours, and you'll get a (usually) different but similar score.

Press reload and you'll get a different ordering with a different score.

Tried it last night on my laptop, scored 75; tried again on my desktop with its fancy IPS monitor and scored 12.

106.

I'm not sure if that's good for a for^Wthirty-fourteen male.

I'm fine with red, black and green though :-)

The gf tried it. She scored 12 but did take 4 times longer than me to do the test.

Now for fun I redid the test without my glasses. I have astigmatism and without my glasses everything further than 6 inches away starts to get blurred. I scored 3 without my glasses on. Without my glasses I cannot see the individual boxes but a long line with changing colours along that line.

But a score of less than 40 would suggest that your colour vision is OK.

ARW :

Before doing the test I rated my colour vision as below average, and I'm sure I could have done better if I had more time to spend on it.

Your score: 7 Gender: Male Age range: 60-69 Best score for your gender and age range: 0 Highest score for your gender and age range: 1970

I'm sure the monitor quality and adjustment can make a big difference. Dell U2410 here.

FYI:

That was done on a decent Samsung laptop - but I am well aware that the colour is nowhere near as good as, say, a MacBook Pro. And it is about three years old now.

Oh, thanks didn't realise. I have just tested it again and I get full marks.

Full marks is zero.

Colour vision is due to your biology, not your social interactions, so its measurement must be compared to your sex, not your gender.

words have gender, people have sex.

Without my glasses I wouldn't see the monitor. I got too bored with shifting blocks to complete the test.

OK, I see everything which is to be seen in every picture.

Is it me or is that *grey squares trick* a fraud?

If you pause the sequence and cover up the green cylinder and the rest of the squares, there is clearly a huge difference between A and B.

Just done using my laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad T430) and I scored 8.

Its you... ;-)

If one captures that scene, and then moved the A square to the B square in photoshop, can you still see a huge difference:

I also scored 0 and it said worst possible score would be 1520 (that was on an IPS HP2475w monitor).

I do have near perfect colour vision so it is right about that.
