OT: (But you lot are so useful!) iPod to pc free software?

If you still have the receipt, take the damned thing back and get a player that doesn't deliberately obstruct free usage.

I find the Sansa Fuze to be very good value - 8gb is only about £50, and there's a microSD slot to add more capacity if you need it. Set to MSC (mass storage) mode and you can simply drag & drop media folders on and off like a USB stick.

Yes, that's what I would have bought had I not come across a good deal on the iPod, and had I not already splashed out on a speaker station that was designed to take the iPod plug hole. Problem was SWMBO liked the look of the nano, but I knew she would soon lose or break it so tried a look alike first. The look alike of course, being totally useless...

Thanks for the tip: if I run out of space on the BB I'll get one for me.

Thanks for all the tips. Had a look at the various progs and found that Sharepod seems to be the basic swapping software I was looking for. Possibly not the fastest, but I've managed to load several hours of spoken from iPod to BlackBerry this afternoon. Not sure if the quality (plang speed?) has turned out quite the same, but certainly not bad for a first go, so thanks again: uk.d-i-y comes up trumps as usual.

Cheers, S
