OT: And finally . . . .

I would have the bastards on CCTV if that happened at mine. When I was chasing up a missing parcel a few years ago I was told they had placed it in my green bin and posted a card telling me. I had proof that they had not been to my house.

Broadback grunted in news:l917q1$ovp$ snipped-for-privacy@dont-email.me:

I think I'd stick my address on the back of the envelope. It's very commonly done, and I can't believe any offence would be taken.

I applaud the sentiment, but you might also consider that for an old person receiving an Xmas card is not *necessarily* as obviously a nice thing as you might expect. My Alzheimer's-ridden mother-in-law would be sent Christmas cards by relatives and contacts, and while she was still at the stage of knowing what Christmas actually was, would have no clue who the sender was, and would get really distressed by it. She'd keep picking the cards off the mantlepiece and looking at them, trying to rack her brains as to who they were (SWMBO telling her repeatedly "it's your sister" really didn't help). In the end SWBO just intercepted all incoming cards and didn't even show her them; which sounds awful but believe me, it was the best thing.

Yes, I recently installed another camera covering a different angle so that I can do this. I got argument on the phone about one driver, and I said "It's on CCTV". They fixed the problem with no further argument.

I keep getting the same thing. E-mails for a couple of users with a similar e-mail address to mine, but with an added initial in the middle, which they forget to tell the sender about. One of them got quite rude when I pointed out his error, and suggested that I should be the one to change my address..

I just delete all mail for him now, and don't tell the sender.

Still, one of them keeps ordering CDs from Amazon using the wrong addie, and I get to download them for free. :-)
