OT: AA batteries

I know this is OT but has anybody got any good, cheap source for AA batteries, my kids toys eat the b**t**d things!! I already know of Screwfix, 7 Day Shop and Battery Force.

If you have any pound shops (Poundland etc) in your area, give them a go. They normally sell packs of about 20 or so for (guess what)...£1.

I use a lot of batteries for various things & find them quite reasonable.

Sometimes rechargeables will be suitable, sometimes they won't. For kids' toys I prefer non-rechargeables as I never know where they will go...!

I buy 24 Duracells from Costco for under a tenner. Cheaper than normal retail outlets anyway.

However, if you read the small print, you will find that those usually are recycled batteries, not new.

As others have said, rechargables are the answer if you use a lot of batteries.

CPC do boxes of 40 AA or AAA alkaline batteries for under £10, and very often they are on special offer for even less.

Halfords do them fairly cheap. 30AA for 6 quid, if I recall.

I got some of these from Halfords (they are less than £6) as my cordless mouse was eating duracells. These are excellent batteries, they are lasting twice as long as the duracells.

Richer Sounds sell packs of 4 AA batteries for about 70p, although I don't find they last that long, but I think they also sell 4 Duracells at £1. They sell AAA batteries at similar prices.
