No heat in any radiator (CH)

Hi, I'm not much of a DIY'er but after having some locals come and try fix issues with my heating (which was a problem with heating at the same time as the hot water coming on and would generally trip out after being on for about 20minutes) They came a few weeks back and installed a new pump which had apparently burnt out, anyway they quoted me for fixing the problem which would have taken two hours (in their words) instead they fitted the new pump and cleaned the piping where the pump sits which took an hour, needless to say I got them back and they said the whole system needed bleeding and gave me a small plastic containing which was some cleaning stuff for noisy pipes/sludge etc. the pipes yesterday would come on all around the house and heat the house, the problem was only heating while the hot water was on, so they reckoned it was sludge causing some fight between hot water and the ch water (i have no idea how it all works) anyway, they give me a list of instructions on how to flush it and I followed it word by word, however, now no heating comes through any radiator.

They basically said to turn off the water supply, turn off the CH system and drain the system of water (mine is located on my heating box in the garage), after cleaning the system I introduced the liquid into the cistem tank and turn everything back on, making sure all raditors had no air inside etc. however, the pipes at the side of the boiler are red hot as they should be, but it's almost like that heat isn't getting to any of the pipes in any part of the house.

So, I've either knacked it somehow, which seems almost impossible with the simplicity of it, but it's me so it's possible, or it's not be drained properly, I did however see there were another drainage valve in my garage that was conected to one of the rads in the main living room (lowest one I guess) which I didn't bleed, so I guess the lower rads were not bled, would this be a case of rebleeding the whole system again making sure the lower rads had been draining too, or is it likely to be another problem ? there is water in the upper stairs rads but no heat is getting to any at all :/ I guess if it's not a case rebleeding then I will have to pay more hundreds of quids to get it sorted.

Sorry for the long winded explanation and my lack of knowledge of the techincal names for everything CH related but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Nik

There's a thread above, starting on Saturday the 19th by SWW, called CH Boiler overheat (message 543392).

It sounds like your problem too,

Have a look to save space; if you have trouble finding it, come back.

Basically your pump is airlocked and not pumpimg water.

Do NOT run it for more than a few seconds like this!!
