My 2013 projects to date

I built a large and elaborate ramp so the wheelchairs could get in and out of the house. I built a plinth over part of the dining room floor and surfaced it with matching laminate so the wheelchairs could get over the door threshold. I built a small ramp between the kitchen and dining room because of the difference in floor levels. I built a ramp so the wheelchairs could get in and out of the motorhome. I altered the upper staircase extensively so a stairlift could be fitted. I dismantled a powerchair (2 hours) so I could access a microswitch (£1.60) that had failed (10 mins) and re-assembled the chair (1 hour). The quote from the manufacturer was £250. I fitted grab handles all over the place. I fitted some cupboards in the new wetroom. I fitted out a trailer with a system that will charge two powerchairs from either mains, the towing vehicle, or an internal battery, depending on what power source is available. I fitted a gadget that controls the smoke detectors. I repaired the (rather expensive) nozzle-thing on the end of the garden hose. I put the freezers on a separate circuit with their RCBs adjacent to them. I dismantled the motorhome cooker and unblocked the jets and made the whole thing so it didn't rattle. I made some small wall-mounted storage units from chicken wire and solder, and fitted them in the motorhome lavatory and utility area. I scrounged an old ex-army storage unit that had 48 compartments, refurbed it and fitted it to the workshop wall and filled it with stuff. I greatly strengthened my sister's shed following an attempted burglary. I fitted a steel plate with a bolt onto my daughter's side gate. I fitted a new TV aerial at my other daughter's because of a tree. I built an elaborate folding worktop in the motorhome. I fitted out a doll's house with a few weird things because it was a prop in an Edinburgh Fringe production. I built a thing that looks like a bedside table but turns instantly into a cartoon car because it was a prop in an Edinburgh Fringe production. I fitted adjacent sockets for all the batteries in a 'specialist' vehicle so they could all be trickle charged at once, easily. I replaced 22 lights in the motorhome with LED ones. I repaired the kettle by soldering it. I made a spare wheel carrier for the trailer. I fitted a TV set in my son-in-law's caravan. I made some bars for a window. Painted them silver just for effect.

[lots of stuff]

Clearly your efforts were far more directed at caring for relatives, I hope you're looking after yourself too ...

To be honest I think that is becoming an issue at the moment. Thanks for your concern.
