Mini Guttering

The saga of my son's summerhouse continues. He has fitted the shingle roof over the leaky wooden original, so now he needs the gutters to dispose of the now-external water.

He went to Wickes and bought some brown Miniline 76mm gutter, but they didn't sell any 135degree corner pieces.

He went online and found this (or something exactly similar) also called

76mm miniline

When you push the gutter into the corner piece, it is loose. Is this right? I thought it should clip together. Have we missed something obvious?

Alternatively, it looks to me that, if some of the rubber seal could be stuck to the outside of the gutter, it would make a tight fit. Is self adhesive rubber seal of this type sold?

You position the gutter over the corner piece, hook it under a clip at one side molded into the corner piece, then snap it into the opposite clip. The black line on the white item, is the rubber seal - no other seal is needed.

Could one 76mm be internal height , the other external and different manufacturers?

You do realise that different manufacturers products are often non-interchangeable? Some can be "persuaded" others not.

It should be a tght fit.

This brings back the question of whether this rubber seal, or something squishy and rated for external, is available. I suppose big gobs of sealant would do.

Maybe somewhere locally will sell him some guttering that's compatible with the 135 deg bits he has already?

I don't remember seeing much brown mini guttering in the sheds round here, but then I've never really looked.

For the record, Wickes 76mm guttering is not compatible with B & Q's

76mm guttering. The B & Q stuff matches what he bought online.
