How does a 12 x 4 inch wood screw convert to Screwfix's metric range? is there a chart anywhere on the web? Thanks.

On page 6 of the Screwfix catalogue there is a small chart which does give the gauge information, the sizes do not convert exactly, for example the metric equivalent of an imperial gauge 8 screw is 4.0 but a metric 4 is thinner than imperial gauge 8.
