Need help, trying to turn of water in new cala house- fitted with megaflow system. According to cala need to turn stop-valve under kitchen sink. Have done this but water still flows from both cold/hot taps.
Assuming you are turning the incoming water off properly the problem is impatience - the Megaflo has an air accumulator which holds a volume of compressed air to absorb expansion but keeps the cylinder under pressure when the water is turned off. Let the water run for a while and it should eventually stop.
If cold water is issuing from upstairs taps you are probably just draining the cold water tank in the loft (if fitted). You want to turn off the outlet from the tank which should be in the loft.
If cold water is issuing from kitchen sink tap then you have obviously turned the wrong stop c*ck or not turned it off properly. Then can be very stiff and difficult to turn off completely.
As Ed mentioned the Megaflow is a different kettle of fish although you should have a stop tap on the cold water inlet to the Megaflow which, when turned off, will prevent water from coming out of the hot taps (after you have released the initial pressure - takes about 5 minutes of wasted hot water with mine though!)
