Mains water feed to combi boiler

Hi,

I have a Alpha CB50 storage combi installed in my house. The boiler is situated on the ground floor. The hot water flow in the upstairs bathroom is rather disappointing. I have found that the cold water feed goes from the ground floor kitchen up into the loft, where the old cold water storage tank used to be, and then comes back down to the combi. Can anybody tell me if it would be worth re-routing the cold water supply direct from the kitchen to the Combi ...

Yes, provided that the flow at the kitchen cold tap is respectably better.

You can measure this with a container of known volume (e.g. bucket) and a stopwatch.

Anything > 20 litres/min is reasonable to good.

Yes, keep it 22mm and replace the stop-c*ck with a full-bore type.
