Maccat 839 - Seizure issue

Hi all i'm new to the site.

I have a maccat 839 chainsaw that is fully working. However once it is in use, if i stop it and try to restart the pullcord will not turn the engine. I have to open the case up and manually turn the motor by hand and then the chainsaw will start.

This happens only on 2nd use while hot. Does anybody know what could possibly be causing this as i am at a loss.

Thanks

Two-stroke mix too lean?

How stiff is the motor when you do that? If seized, it will feel solid in both directions, but then free up as you work it back and forth. If it feels relatively "normal" when you open the case I would say it is more likely that something is catching or jamming in the freewheel mechanism.

You are using two stroke? IE. oil in the fuel.
