Don't touch them! Baked bean tins would be better. Father in law used them. They buckled and fell apart, very poorly made.

What did you want to know?/q

How is the top plate fixed to the riser tube?

Did you need to pre-drill holes or just bang the flooring screws straight in?

General opinion please?

The ones I used were one piece, but the destruction for these say;

Snap or slide the Barbed Bases over the wooden roof trusses, (joists) so that they are no more than 600mm (24?) apart along the length of the trusses, which are usually located at 400mm (16?) centres.

Drill holes through the bottom of the Barbed Bases and secure to the trusses with suitable screws of not less than 35mm (1ó?) in length.

Mine had holes.

Deffo not suitable for walking on IMO.

Mine had holes.

Presume you mean to fix to joists?

What about to secure the new flooring on top?

In that case, what are they for?

Probably for putting lightweight 'floors' over bulky insulation so you can then store possessions on the 'floors'.

So, just within the small area reachable from the loft trap door, without walking on the floor?

It does say 'walkable floor' on the box, the third image, but that could mean anything. I cannot see where it tells you how many you get for the bid price.

The printing on the box says 12 per box.

Ferzackerly.

Very useful for trapeze artists who can stack their belongings on the lightweight floor whilst hanging from the roof timbers, but that's quite a limited market. :)
