Lino in bathroom, over floorboards

Hi,

I will be pulling the laminate out of our bathroom soon, despite paying a premium for the stuff that is supposed to be OK in there it is starting to look crap.

So I could do with recommendations for good lino, im after stuff with a solid underfoot feel.

Also our floorboards are less than mega, should I put something inbetween? Like some sort of thin board? Or rip the lot out and replace with chipboard?

Thanks for any input,

Rick

Not chipboard!!!!!! Arghhh! If it sees moisture it swells.

Use marine ply.

Some good lino stuff available at the the specialist shops. Best to have it professionally laid - can do borders and custom designs. Sorry - can't recall the name if it.

... Then there are the cushion floor materials.

.....Or go for ceramic

get some 6mm ply and nail it down with 19mm ring shank nails at 150mm centres. it needs to be fitted neatly up to the edges leaving a small expansion gap. then seal the ply with some pva mixed 50/50 with water and brushed or rolled on .then give it a quick sand and fit some lino tiles from b&q or whatever if there is a problem with water damaging the previous flooring this would obviously need to be resolved first
