I've been away from this group for a while, but now that I have returned, there appears to be far less spam than a few months ago. Has something been done to achieve this or am I just imagining it?

Maybe spammers have figured out that newsnet is only read by penniless and decrepit old people, such as those who d-i-y home repairs and improvements.

Are you using the same news server that you were before? Different providers have different levels of anti-spam provision.
