Landlord electrical safety test

I got this as a second-hand message, hope I've got the details right, The sparks put two comments on the form, one about the immersion thermostat not meeting EN 60335-2-73 with regard to a 98 deg C cut-out.

The second was the bathroom light not being splashproof.

The cert was granted.

Can I just fit a new stat in the immersion? Do the modern ones have this saftey feature?

I suppose the bathroom light should be changed for an approved type?

I think so. You need something like this:

Unless you can move it. You need to get up to speed on bathroom zoning, in order to understand what is permitted where, in relation to where water is thrown around.

Have a look at:

instance, if you get the light more than 2.25 metres above the floor, it's then outside any of the defined 'zones' and doesn't have to be anything special.

Was this a proper PIR?

Yes, and the old thermostat should be a code 2 on a PIR
