laminate ceramic-look tiles

There are those that would say stone has no place inside the home, along with slate and granite. Doesn't look or feel right

Are the 'tiles' 39cm square then ? That's very wide for laminate planks.

Yes, and herein lies the problem because B&Q and other stuff is only

29 or 32 cm.

You can see an example of something like I'm looking for at

this seems to be in individual tiles rather than strips.

I agree. Keep it outside.

Mind you, my very rich friends in Aberdeen have the most beautiful granite floor in their hall. It's an enormous hall so you can get the true benefit. It would be wasted in a normal sized house, few rooms have the same proportions.

Trouble is, the granite was imported from the Far East.

I've checked this out and it now seems quite likely to be what I've got. It's the only one I can find that B&Q do in this size. Regrettably it's not the right pattern and I imagine that they don't do it anymore, but I will enquire. Thanks.

No more than you should assume that the "Man at C&A" worked for C&A.

I suppose that these are people who would normally stick fake versions of it on the *outside* of their houses....

It is purely a matter of personal taste.

"Those" are just as entitled to their personal taste as anyone else. But personal taste is not an issue on which some people should dictate to others.

Do you think people should dictate to others about what others should dictate?

Hi Andy, not the colour you are looking for but theses planks are in the sizes you want. Go to

and search these numbers: 8426924128484,

5027086117564, 5027086146557, 5027086166302, 5027086117663. They may have more colours available in store. If it helps further in your search the manufacturer of the B&Q stuff is Floormaster

I have the last one in my kitchen. I cannot confirm the "Made in Germany" part as I do not have any spare planks and I ain't taking it up to look ;-)

You have carpet? I'm just in the process of throwing the last of it out.

Adopting a spartan way of life are we?

We'd love to have slate on the roof but we have tiles. We used to have carpet inside the house but no longer. Bleurch! Can't do with any more wildlife!

No, just a clean one. I was amazed to learn that some people even have carpet in the bathroom. Apparently that is a peculiarly British thing.
