Is oak plywood made?

If not, why not?

If it is / were to be, what would its properties be?

Just curious.

Thanks in advance,

Yes of course. But the core of the plywood is cheaper timber. Used extensively in furniture. It's main property is it looks better and gives the impression that the furniture is more expensive than it actually is.

Surface veneer? Yes, but it's pretty rare, as most is actually oak-veneer= ed MDF.

It's not used for base ply, as (AFAIK) oak trees are too wiggly and too exp= ensive to be good fodder for the giant pencil sharpeners they use as veneer= cutters. Oak won't rotary cut well and the swinging blade cutters are too = expensive to use except for face veneers.
